Amanda Ballard Bio

Amanda Ballard is a Republican, Catholic, mom, wife, child advocate, and attorney. Born in a small town in South Carolina, Amanda was the first in her blue collar family to go to college, and went on to put herself through law school. It was there she met her husband David. Together, they have two young daughters. She has spent her entire career working as an attorney in the local child welfare system.

Amanda has lived her entire adult life in Bradenton, and is completely invested in the future of our community. A candidate for Manatee County's District 2 commission seat, she is a supporter of Governor DeSantis, and will strive to bring relief to the most underserved areas of our community.

Community News—Chance to Get Involved with New Charter School

Bradenton Classical Academy will be a free charter school located in Manatee County with affiliation of Hillsdale College Barney Initiative.  We will focus on the central Western tradition of study with the liberal arts education including history, literature, fine arts, and philosophy.  The school will start with K-5th grade and will add a grade every year until we reach grade 12.

Our mission is to develop independent lifelong learners through a content rich classical education in the liberal arts and sciences, focusing on the importance of individual accountability, integrity, and the respect for citizenship in our country to understand and defend the principles that were used to found America.

Bradenton Classical Academy’s culture will be one that instills in our scholars a love for learning that brings them to lifelong independent learners throughout the rest of their lives whether it be going to college or preparing them for another field of expertise.  The culture will instill the respect for self-accountability, personal integrity, and respect for civic responsibility.  Scholars will understand the need to make their own critical thinking decisions about their society.  They will learn they can make societal changes rather than sit back and let others decide on their fate.  BCA’s culture will concentrate on the virtues of citizenship, integrity, humility, respect, self-esteem, self-control, and kindness.  Through the above, scholars will be able to pursue truths, seeing the goodness and beauty of our country and world.

We are in the application phase of our organization.  We need of $25,000 to pay for this process.  Once approved, funds will be available to us to open the school.  We have a succession plan in place for board members and are willing to discuss the board’s needs with volunteers.  Please contact Sherri Davidson at (941)405-3424 or by email at Sherri.Davidson.Classicaledu@gmail.com for further information.

Thoughts for Encouragement

“I pray for peace and joy through this life and I will resist respectfully.”

“No one grants me my freedom; I am a free person made in God's image.”

“It will end when you stop complying!”

“The government’s main job is to protect our God-given rights.”

“You can't outlaw a smile:) There are unlimited reasons why faces & smiles are good for us.”

“We all have opinions, just like we all have a belly button. But truth is based on God, His Word, the Good Book. Bible means Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.”💗
